The past year has accelerated digital transformation across practically every industry as organizations have had to rapidly transition to working at home and many strategic transformation projects that were planned for multiple years have been accelerated to mere months.
Today, we are at the cusp of a new era of work. The welcome news of new vaccines promises a return to normality, yet the world of work will likely change forever. People will increasingly move seamlessly from working in the office, at home, at the local coffee shop, the street corner, or somewhere in between. People will work from anywhere. From any mode. From any device. And perhaps mixing all of them while going through a single conversation.
At the center of enabling people to work from anywhere is the need for different apps, services, and platforms to work together.
At RingCentral, we have built a global, cloud-based communications platform that has openness at the center, with 50,000 developers and integrations with 5,000 apps and services. We believe that offering customers the ability to use the apps and services they need is critical.
That’s one of the reasons we are delighted to join the Modern Computing Alliance as a founding member. We’re coming together with like-minded companies from Box to Citrix, Dell, Google, HP, Intel, Okta, VMware, among others.
The purpose of the Alliance is to bring different technology companies together in a cloud-first format and work together to offer effective solutions to the rapidly changing needs of our working environment. The mission of the alliance is clear: “Drive ‘silicon-to-cloud’ innovation – fueling a differentiated modern computing platform and providing a preferred choice for integrated business solutions.”
As we think about our charter within the Alliance, we believe that the ability to have influence over how Chrome works with RingCentral’s offering of Message Video Phone (MVP) and Contact Center solutions will be critical to our customers – who are the very reason we partner to innovate the way we do.
Within the Modern Computing Alliance we will continue to work closely with the members of the alliance to address technology challenges that companies face today and to provide choice to customers so they can select high performance, alternative, and modern solutions, that will be available to companies of all sizes.
Through the joint investment of ideas and resources, we will build a robust roadmap that brings together best of breed products across the silicon to cloud stack to provide differentiation in the following areas:
- Remote Work, Productivity, and Collaboration: Reimagine productivity of a distributed workforce by enhancing remote worker productivity, improving end-user workflows, and surfacing intelligence and insights.
- Healthcare: Fuel productivity and efficiency across modern workflows that cover the new normal, from telemedicine to at-home-care.
- Security and Identity: Address the increasingly sophisticated security challenges that organizations face in today’s globally interconnected world.
- Performance: Deliver outstanding performance across the entire vertical stack.
We believe the Alliance is already defining the future of modern computing by bringing together cutting-edge technologies and we will continue to create a bigger impact on the fast-paced world we are all living in today.
We are excited to partner with the organizations within the alliance and continue to contribute to modern paths to productivity, collaboration, and the ability to work from anywhere.
